Course Description:
This course is designed for individuals seeking to serve as catechists for children ages 3-6 (PreK-K) and is also open to anyone seeking spiritual enrichment. This course includes at least 90 hours of presentations and reflections which model the presentations for children. Adult reflections help foster a deeper understanding of the Bible and the Holy Mass. Material making as well as practicing presentations (lessons) will be included. Completion of the entire course plus time observing in an atrium are required for Level I certification* by the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
Dates
A non-refundable deposit of $50 is due at time of registration and is credited to the total cost of tuition. (No deposit is required if you are obtaining a scholarship from the Pittsburgh or Greensburg Diocese). Any remaining balance is due on the first day of course.
*Catechists serving in the Diocese of Pittsburgh can apply for full scholarship. The application form can be accessed here.
